We are looking at doing another GORUCK Challenge this fall. Thinking about doing the ''Heavy'' version. This is a 24 hour event. For more information, visit their site. https://www.goruck.com/events/Heavy
The GORUCK Challenge is a team event, never a race. Think of it as a slice of Special Operations training where – from start to finish -- a Special Operations Cadre challenges, teaches, and inspires your small team to do more than you ever thought possible. Leadership is taught and teamwork is demanded on missions spanning the route we have selected. The hardest part? Signing up.
Registration is individual, completion is collective. We recommend signing up with a friend, but you don't have to. Either way, you will leave with 34 friends for life. You will show up to the start point with water, wrapped bricks, and a rucksack full of anything else you need. You will meet your Special Operations Cadre there, and then it begins. You will stay with your team the duration of the Challenge. Your Cadre will be with you the entire time until the 35 individuals have become one team and earned the GORUCK Tough patch.
This will be an ALL night event and will end sometime the next day. It will, quite possibly, be the toughest thing you've ever 'volunteered' to do. Yes, you have what it takes. You just may not realize it yet. We have 35 slots available for this challenge. The route will be urban and rural.
More information will be posted as we get closer to event day. If you wish to reserve your slot, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. To RESERVE your slot for this event, payment is due immediately. This event will be $130 per person. Once payment is received your name will be on a list of the lucky 35. If for some reason you are unable to attend, a refund will be given only up to 30 prior to the event. No refund inside of 30 days out due to logistics involved in the event. That means, after May 28th, no more refunds.
If you are unsure HOW to train for this challenge, the first thing I recommend is to start 'rucking' with some weight. You're gonna need tough feet for this. At least familiarize yourself with moving on foot with a weighted pack. The male weight is approx 40lbs and the female weight is approx 20lbs. If you have any questions about ruck marching and what you MAY encounter, contact us. This will be freakin awesome and only a few people will be able to say, 'I did it'. Contact us for questions.
